Morgana Le Fay or Fata Morgana

The painting started as a sketch of my model, Elissa. It was drawn in a continuous line without lifting the pencil. Subsequently, quick strokes with the broadside of a graphite stick defined the shading. This method, of course, resulted in the sketch having sensuality and freedom.

Transferring The Sketch To Canvas

Transferring the drawing to the canvas without changing or correcting proportions kept the freedom and sensuality of the original drawing.
A cake decorator filled with paint reproduced the continuous line. Next, pieces of Lace were applied to represent the Shadows.

Once the painting was on the canvas it took on a life of its own. Elissa becme a goddess of fire and molten stone.

The Meaning Of The Name

Fata Morgana signified a nautical mirage. However, in Ireland, it was part of an old legend. People claimed they could sometimes see a lost land and a city far west in the Atlantic. They called the island city O Breasal or Hy Brazil.  Its name meant Royal City or the island of the blessed.  (Curiously a name much older than the Portugurse nome for the country.) They saw an apparition on the sea with people running to and fro between flames.
In the painting, Fata Morgana is resting after one of her frantic fiery marathons. In reality Fata Morgana represents the Earth’s volcanic past and future.Actually

A Volcanic Misconception

The Earth has had violent periods of volcanic action. However, the common belief is that the Earth started as a fiery ball of molten rock and has been cooling down ever since. Moreover, the surface features on land and under the ocean seem to prove this theory. In addition, there are vast areas of pillow lava on the ocean floor, mountains of igneous and metamorphic rock. Despite what may look like, cooling may be gradual heating. Volcanic activity may be increasing with each subsequent major seismic episode. Continents sliding dramatically from one position to a new location, possibly thousands of miles away, would have occurred in a short time. This movement would have been a possible cause of the pillow lava that covered thousands of square miles created simultaneously. Each upheaval repeated over Earth history may be increasing in magnitude is solidified in stone\ (Reference, “The Expanding Earth Theory,” The intervals of 60 to 200 million years give time to the surface to cool while the Earth gets primed for a repeat and more massive performance. Thus, Fata Morgana may be a prediction of Earth’s future.

The Earth may have started as a frozen mass of rock and ice. The enormous pressure that was the Big Bang would have significantly affected how matter and liquids like water behaved, and the colossal pressure may have enabled water to stay with Earth as it cooled. As a result, water may have frozen at temperatures that would be much above boiling today. The big bang had long passed, billions of years would have passed without a direct heat source, ancient Earth would have started cold. Thus, the Earth possibly formed with most of its water. The same type of composition exists with many meteors and comets that pass near Earth.

Where Does The Heat Come From

The Earth, warmed by the solar energy, is heated by the friction generated by its rotation as well as by the Earth’s expansion. Rotational tensions and fractures show in the longitudinal faults that form steps and radiate out from the expansion fault lines. Primarily these  expansion faults circumscribe the globe. Most importantly the tension of a rotating mass with the equator moving at 1,000 miles an hour and the poles almost motionless, is massive. Likewise the internal forces between the different layers of the Earth, which move at different speeds, create much heat. The internal imbalance in speed creates tension that increases with a final release that has Earth-shattering endings.

Heat is created internally by the friction of expansion and rotation. In the same fashion,  the internal expansion  produces the volcanic activity along the expansion faults.
Also the onion-like layers slide independently cause heat. The volcanic mounts that have moved across the Pacific Ocean from Asia Hawaii illustrate the upwelling of material to the surface layer from the movement of a layer below the ocean layer

THE FUTURE

The Earth’s seismic and volcanic past is a good indicator of the planet’s future cataclysmic events. There may be a re-balancing of the continental layers at any time. The movement of the continents may not occur for millions of years. Nevertheless, with most continents jammed near the north pole, the world is out of balance now, and anything is possible.

Furthermore, the re-balancing of the crust gets more dramatic as the Earth gets bigger and distances increase. This increase would suggest that the next significant shift will be more cataclysmic than the last. Some adjustments are relatively mild, as was the last adjustment 60 or so million years ago that killed the majority of the dinosaurs. Each of these shifts has decimated plant and animal life. It would be possible to save the planet by building a version of Noah’s ark with enough bio-diversity matrix to repopulate the Earth. The Earth would not be hospitable for at least a generation. However, It may be possible to build an ark, possibly on the Moon, enabling life and humanity to live on,
