Time

Aristotle contended that time is the most unknown of all unknown things and described it as a curious and slippery subject. He could repeat the exact words if he were alive today, for there is still a poor understanding of time.
“Time” currently only refers to an arbitrary measurement. Time is constant, but the unit measurement may change or adjust. For example, the measurement of each day, hour, and minute are getting longer as the Earth’s rotation slows down. On the other hand, time is more than measurement. More importantly, time is a constant. It is always now, and that fact complicates understanding time. The lack of a precise word for the constant instantaneous present makes understanding or discussing time difficult. The word comparable to ” point” in geometry that signifies position with no dimension does not exist. The words “Now” or “this instant” are not precise enough. Dictionaries indicate these words can mean; in a moment, at present, at once; immediately or in the immediate past; very recently, the time for action. However, these words are fuzzy in meaning. Therefore, a word. is needed, equivalent to “point” in geometry. A word to signify a moving position with no dimension, designated for the “instant now.” The word “Punct,” from the Latin punctum for point, has been created for this essay. Punct, defined as a constant, is always present with no dimension and shows this overlooked aspect of time.
Punct is constant and omnipresent in the universe, the same everywhere. However, it also means that time only exists in the present, and the standard conception of time is only the arbitrary measurement of the past or the future. This realization of time poses a dilemma. If it is always “the present,” how does movement occur? Concerning the material world and the realm of energy, movement may result in momentum and a perpetual struggle to correct an imbalance. However, this momentum does not explain the force of life forms, animals, plants, and fungi to move, grow, and change the environment.
This movement occurs in the present, but with punct having no dimension, it means that the decision to make an action and the action happen simultaneously and not in sequence, as is what seems to happen. Sequential action has dimension, which is impossible for the physical and energy planes. It would indicate that life exists in a different plane, but intersection is what is happening.
