Orange Orlando

A  twist to Adam and Eve and the apple. Being in Florida, I decided to have Eve ask Adam for an orange.

The frame for this painting is integral to the success of the work. I wanted it to be an extension of the picture, so I made orange-themed side panels of painted jigsaw wood oranges and leaves over oxidized copper panels. The designs on the top and bottom are flat beads of abalone shell.

I like working with exaggerated shapes and enjoyed the challenge it gave to composition.
