Adam And Eve At 7-11

Adam and Eve at Seven Eleven was part of a series I did that was based on Old Master paintings. Growing out of Michelangelo’s painting, “The Sacrifice of Noah,” from the Sistine Chapel, The composition changed as it grew, and the nudies were replaced with two nude people on the phone on side panels. That initially could slide under the main panel. The most significant change was moving the three standing people on the left an inch or to the right. The painting was a mess for weeks or months as I did not have a drawing, and the mixup of moving people was very confusing. From then on, I always did detailed drawings to solve major compositional problems before putting the work on canvas.
